APPLICATION
The student must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for Federal Direct Loans. Be sure to include the Defiance College school code: 003041. If you are eligible to receive a Federal Direct Loan, we will automatically process the loan for you. If you do not want or need the loan, contact our office and we will cancel it.
Students that have not previously borrowed Federal Direct Loans will also need to complete Entrance Loan Counseling. The Counseling session covers information on your rights and responsibilities as a student loan borrower. This must be complete before loan funds can be disbursed.
If you are a first-time student at DC, you will need to complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN). Loan funds will not be disbursed until you complete the MPN. The MPN will require your PIN and two references.
