March 1, 2018

DEFIANCE, Ohio - Defiance College is launching a newly-designed Master of Arts in Education program for fall semester 2018. An open house and information session on the new MAE will be held Tuesday, March 20, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Buchman Board Room of the Serrick Campus Center.

The session will give teachers the opportunity to talk with Defiance College education faculty and admissions counselors. Information presentations will begin at 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.

According to Dr. Carla Higgins, Director of Education and Assistant Professor of Education, due to recent changes from the Ohio Department of Education, the 33-hour credit degree is designed to complete in a five-semester model. Courses will include hybrid, online, and face-to- face delivery to meet the needs of licensed teachers.

In addition to the general degree program, there are three concentrations: K-12 Intervention Specialist Mild to Moderate, K-12 Reading Endorsement, and Sport Coaching.

Persons planning to attend the MAE open house and information session can RSVP to twatkins@defiance.edu, however reservations are not required.
