Defiance College Music Programs to present spring concert

March 28, 2019

DEFIANCE, Ohio - Defiance College Music Programs will present a spring concert, "An Evening of Music" on Thursday, April 4, featuring performances by the College's Symphonic Band, Chamber Singers, and Choral Union. The concert begins at 7 p.m. at St. John United Church of Christ, Webster Street.

Each ensemble will perform a selection of pieces, and the highlight of the concert will be a combined band and choir presentation of Schubert's German Mass. The program ranges from a march and an early American hymn tune by the band to select vocal pieces for combined choirs and women's groups.

The Choral Union is a large choral ensemble open to students, college personnel, and community members, including music educators and music students. The Symphonic Band performs traditional and modern works for wind band.

There is no admission charge to the concert. There will be a prize raffle and a free will offering will be collected to support DC Music Programs.
