Michael Miller, DC Board of Trustee Chair, to deliver commencement address

Defiance College Board of Trustees Chair and 1975 graduate, Michael Miller, will deliver the address for the commencement ceremonies to be held on Saturday, May 14, at the Weaner Center gymnasium. The ceremonies will celebrate the class of 2022 at 11:00 a.m.

Miller is an insurance industry veteran and currently is the President and CEO of Ategrity Specialty Insurance Company located in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was with Nationwide Insurance, Columbus, Ohio, for 32 years and served as President of Scottsdale Insurance for 11 years. He is a member of the Board of Trustees for Scottsdale Arts. He is also the vice-chair of the board of Gainey Business Bank, a startup community bank in Scottsdale, AZ. He is a past board member of the Grand Canyon Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale, and other local non-profit organizations. 

Miller graduated from Defiance College with a Bachelor of Science degree - having majored in business administration and accounting. He earned his MBA from Indiana University in 1981. He and his wife, Paulette, are the parents of two children, Jason and Jenna.
