HALL AMENITIES

INTERNET

Free internet hookup in each room and wireless internet throughout the building.

CABLE

Free cable with all your favorite channels like ESPN and MTV.

HOUSING SECURITY

McReynolds Hall, Whitney Hall, and the Jacket Suites remain locked 24/7. Students use their student ID to gain access to their individual residence halls.

AIR CONDITIONING

Students residing in McReynolds and Whitney hall are able to bring and install their own 5,000 BTU air conditioning unit (one per room). Jacket Suites and Grand Avenue have built in units in each apartment.

LAUNDRY FACILITIES

Free laundry on each floor of the halls only a short walk from your room.

KITCHENETTE

There is a small kitchenette located in both Whitney Hall and McReynolds Hall that contains a sink and microwave. This space is available for use to all residents of the building. It is the responsibility of the residents to clean this area after usage.

STUDY AREAS

Study lounge areas are in each building equipped with computers.

QUIET & COURTESY HOURS

Quiet hours start from 10pm-8am on weekdays and 12am-8am on weekends. During quiet hours, everyone must lower their noise levels to be contained within the rooms and doors should be closed. However, students are expected to maintain courtesy hours 24 hours, 7 days a week. Residents are encouraged to ask members of their hall community to lower their voices, radios or televisions in order to optimize study and sleep time.

VENDING MACHINES

Beverage vending machines are in the lobby areas of both Whitney and McReynolds Halls.

FOOD DELIVERY

Many pizza shops to choose from. Padrone's, Domino's, Pizza Hut, Papa John's and Marco's deliver to the residence halls. Additional restaurants delivery may be available via Door Dash.

CAMPUS AMENITIES

FITNESS

Students have free membership to the fitness center as well as the local YMCA.
The Smart Fitness Center (located in the George M. Smart Athletic Center) provides state-of-the-art equipment, including: free weights, treadmills, Nautilus Circuit, Elliptical Total Body machines, Trainer machines, stairmasters, recumbent bikes, and upright stationary bikes.

CAMPUS SECURITY

Continental Security Security Officers complete campus rounds from 3 p.m. to 7 a.m. daily.
Students have room keys as well as access cards. Entry into the sleeping areas of the residence halls is strictly limited to residents of that building.

HEALTH RESOURCES

Defiance College has limited on-campus health services; however,  there are a number of health care options available within a short drive of Defiance College.   A Mercy Health Nurse Practitioner is available on campus 8 hours a week.  Visits to the on-campus CNP are free of charge and do not require medical insurance.  The local Promedica and Mercy Hospital systems provide comprehensive health care and each have an Urgent Care Center as well as an Emergency Room. There are also three pharmacies within walking distance of the campus.

COUNSELING CENTER

The Counseling Center provides free and confidential consultation, assessment, individual, group, couple's and family therapy to Defiance College students.
The Counseling Center is located in Defiance Hall, Room 201.

STUDENT ACADEMIC SUPPORT SERVICES

Provides tutoring, writing consultations, supplemental instruction, study skill development and structured study program. SASS is located in the Pilgrim Library.

CAMPUS ACTIVITIES

A variety of entertainment and co-curricular programming for the student body at little or no cost. Larger events include Swarm Week, Friends & Family Weekend and Homecoming.

LATE NIGHT FUN

The McCann Center is open 24/7. Here you can grab a snack, work in the computer lab, or play pool and air hockey anytime day or night.

SPORTING EVENTS

Defiance College has 17 intercollegiate sports. Admission is free to home games with College ID.

INTRAMURALS

Intramurals offer a wide variety of sports and recreational activities throughout the academic year for all students, faculty, and staff.
