A GPA of 2.5 or higher is required for admittance into the program. Students must complete the required Defiance College General Education Curriculum courses. Courses are offered in an eight-week, online format in the fall, spring, and the first eight weeks of the summer semester.

Baccalaureate-prepared nurses have a broad base of learning that combines the technical aspects of nursing with the leadership skills necessary to lead in today's dynamic health care environment.

The 100% online RN to BSN completion program was developed to promote Nursing education that is affordable, accessible, provides maximum transference of credits, and supports the RWJF and IOM benchmark that by 2020, 80% of RNs will have their baccalaureate degree.

In DC's 1+2+1 Nursing program, we offer the BSN degree in partnership with Northwest State Community College, located 14 miles from our campus. Those who attain admission complete the associate degree in Nursing at NSCC during their sophomore and junior years. As a freshman, students get the full college experience on the DC campus. In this year, students are required to take the nursing PAX pre-admission exam to be eligible to attend NSCC. NSCC reserves a limited number of seats for Defiance College students.

After completing the RN degree requirements, successfully passing the NCLEX-RN exam, and demonstrating good academic standing at 2.5 GPA or above, the student will return to DC for their senior year.
