PART-TIME FACULTY POSITIONS
TEACHER EDUCATION CLINICAL SUPERVISORS
The Defiance College Teacher Education program is seeking part-time Clinical Supervisors
for Teacher Education students participating in 5-week practicum experiences in the
Fall and Spring, and 15-week Internships in the Spring. Our Licensure areas include
Early and Middle Childhood Education, Adolescent and Young Adult (core content areas),
Intervention Specialist Mild-to-Moderate (K-12), and Health and Physical Education
(Pre-K-12). Clinical Supervisors are required to make site visits during normal school
hours and attend meetings and/or training sessions on campus.
Requirements include a Master’s Degree in Education and teaching experience in P-12 schools. A current teaching license within the areas indicated above is preferred. Defiance College seeks qualified individuals for our part-time faculty pool. Format
of classes is generally face to face and content areas of need vary from semester
to semester. Part-time faculty are responsible for providing quality instruction to
students through well-prepared classes, relevant assignments, fair and holistic assessment
of learning, clear directives, and timely and helpful feedback.
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in relevant field; professional or teaching experience desirable. Current areas of need include:

APPLIED MUSIC LESSONS: GUITAR, VIOLA, TRUMPET, HORN, AND TUBA
Defiance College is seeking part-time instructors for anticipated needs in applied music lessons. The anticipated needs include Guitar, Viola, High Brass, and Low Brass. Instructors provide 12 lessons and a performance assessment. Candidates must be willing to recruit and build instrumental music studios and potentially small ensembles, based on department needs. Successful candidates are encouraged to develop a private studio from area secondary schools while using the college facilities and marketing. Candidates must hold a valid music credential and Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree in performance or a performance certificate preferred. Defiance College Music Programs serves students through a variety of vocal and instrumental ensembles. Music ensembles involve students in cooperative learning environments developing aural, communication, and leadership skills. The department also offers private lessons in voice and all the band and orchestral instruments, guitar, bass, and percussion. Exciting things are happening with the DC Music Programs. Successful candidates must be accepted into the Defiance College graduate program in Education or Business and will be awarded a full graduate school tuition scholarship covering a maximum of 36 credit hours. Additionally, a tuition waiver of up to 9 credit hours will be applied toward any pre-requisite courses which may be needed for the MBA program, provided they are taken at Defiance College. Compensation includes salary, College-provided housing, and a meal plan on campus when meals are served to students during the academic year.
GRADUATE ASSISTANT - WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Defiance College, an NCAA D-III institution located in Northwest Ohio, seeks qualified applicants for an anticipated opening for a women’s basketball graduate assistant coaching position. Responsibilities include serving as the primary assistant to the head coach, recruiting, game preparation, practice organization, scheduling, assisting head coach in all phases of student-athlete mentoring and evaluation, academic monitoring, and other administrative duties as assigned. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree, have previous basketball playing or coaching experience, possess a valid driver’s license, and have a clean driving record.

GRADUATE ASSISTANT - SPORTS INFORMATION DIRECTOR
Defiance College, an NCAA D-III institution and member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference located in Northwest Ohio, seeks qualified applicants for an anticipated opening for a graduate assistant to the Sports Information Director. The individual will assist with coordination of publicity and media relations and promotion of the College’s 16 intercollegiate sports programs. Primary responsibilities will include layout and design of media guides, game-day programs and game note packets; writing press releases; daily maintenance of www.DefianceAthletics.com; keeping statistics and performing other game day tasks; and other duties as assigned by the Sports Information Director. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and have strong organizational, writing, and communication skills. Applicants with previous experience in a sports information department and a working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Stat Crew will receive top consideration. Applicants must be able to adjust to a flexible work schedule requiring evening and weekend work.
