FACULTY POSITIONS
Assistant Professor of Marketing
Defiance College invites applications and nominations for a full-time, one-year, Assistant
Professor of Marketing with the possibility of a tenure track appointment. Responsibilities include a 12 credit per semester teaching load that focuses on a
variety of business courses that include introductory and advanced courses. Preference
for specialization is marketing. The position also includes academic advising, assisting
with program leadership and curriculum development, committee work, and service to
the college. The college is accredited by the International Accreditation Council
for Business Education.
The successful candidate must have a completed MBA. A doctorate in a field pertinent to Business is preferred and ABD candidates will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong teaching record, innovative ideas for course development and pedagogy, and a willingness to help students apply their work both inside and outside the classroom in creative ways. Professional experience in the field of marketing is desirable.

Assistant Professor of Digital Media
Defiance College invites applications for a tenure track position in the Department
of Communication Arts specializing in digital media production in the following areas:
video production, social media, media writing, video editing. Experience with commercial
production or podcasting welcome. This program is intended to teach students to use
technology to communicate through various media. The teaching load is 4-4 each term.
The successful applicant will hold a Ph.D. or MFA; advanced ABD’s will be considered.

Instructor of Accounting
Defiance College invites applications and nominations for a full-time Instructor of
Accounting. Responsibilities include a 12-credit per semester teaching load that focuses

of internships is expected. Defiance College is accredited by the International Accreditation
Council for Business Education.
Candidates must have a master’s degree in Accounting or Business; CPA licensure is required. Candidates with a master’s degree will be considered only with significant professional experience in accounting. Preference will be given to candidates with significant practical real-world experience with accounting and business coupled with higher education teaching experience.

PART-TIME FACULTY POSITIONS
PART-TIME INSTRUCTORS
Defiance College is often in need of qualified individuals for our part-time faculty
pool. Format of classes is generally face-to-face and content areas of need vary from
semester to semester. Part-time faculty are responsible for providing quality instruction
to students through well-prepared classes, relevant assignments, fair and holistic
assessment of learning, clear directives, and timely and helpful feedback. Applicants

Part-Time Instructor - Psychology
Defiance College is currently seeking part-time instructors for the following Fall
2022 courses: PSY 110 Introduction to Psychology, PSY 220 Lifespan Development, PSY
315 History and Systems of Psychology, and PSY 430 Memory and Cognition. Fall courses
begin August 23rd with orientation the week prior.

Part-Time Instructors – Composition
Defiance College is seeking part-time instructors for Fall 2022 for its composition
program. We anticipate multiple openings for Writing Workshop (a first-semester composition
course for developing writers) and Composition II (a second-year composition course
focusing on academic argumentation and research). Courses are being offered face-to-face
and meet two days a week. Applicants must have a Master’s degree in English or in

INSTRUCTORS FOR APPLIED MUSIC LESSONS
Defiance College is seeking to build an applicant pool for anticipated instructional
needs in applied music lessons for:
Strings: violin, viola, percussion
Instructors provide 14 lessons and a performance assessment per semester. Instructors
will have the potential to build private studios and work with ensembles. The Music
Program seeks candidates with an interest in working with students of all skill levels,
primarily beginners, as well as energy and drive to contribute to growing a small

TEACHER EDUCATION CLINICAL SUPERVISORS
The Teacher Education program is seeking part-time clinical supervisors for teacher
education students participating in 5-week practicum experiences and in 15-week student
teaching experiences for the fall and spring semesters. Our licensure areas include
early and middle childhood education, adolescent and young adult (core content areas),
and intervention specialist mild-to-moderate (K-12). Clinical supervisors are required
to make site visits during normal school hours and attend meetings and/or training
sessions on campus.
Requirements include a master's degree in education and teaching experience in P-12
schools. A current teaching license within the areas indicated above is preferred.

ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS
Data Management and Office Coordinator
Defiance College seeks candidates for the position of Data Management and Office Coordinator.
Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, the Coordinator is a member
of the enrollment management team and plays a vital role within the Admissions Office.
Position responsibilities include the efficient running of daily operations, data
entry, imports, document processing, and assistance with coordinating events. Applicants
must have a great work ethic, attention to detail, and strong organization skills.
A high school diploma with significant prior work experience in office settings is

Head Women’s Soccer Coach
Defiance College, an NCAA D-III institution and member of the Heartland Collegiate
Athletic Conference, seeks qualified applicants to serve as the Head Women’s Soccer
Coach. Reporting to the Athletic Director, the individual will be responsible for
the total operation of the women’s soccer program. Soccer duties include recruiting,
game preparation, practice organization, scheduling, fund-raising, budget preparation
and management, student-athlete mentoring, development of an annual service learning/engagement
project for student-athletes, mentoring and evaluation of assistant coaches, and other
duties normally associated with being the head coach of an intercollegiate program.
Additional expectations of this position include knowledge of and commitment to all
NCAA, HCAC, and institutional rules and regulations, game administration duties, and
some departmental and campus committee work/involvement.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree (masters preferred) and a valid driver’s license. Applicants should possess a strong soccer coaching background with demonstrated success as an energetic recruiter and positive role model for student athletes. Preference will be given to candidates to possess USC/USS coaching licensure and have previous collegiate soccer coaching, playing and recruiting experience.

Admissions Counselor
Defiance College invites enthusiastic applicants for the position of Admissions Counselor
to recruit, advise, and counsel prospective students. Counselors work with immediate
high school graduates, international students, veterans, graduate students and those
returning to earn a degree. Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment Management,
the admissions counselor meets with prospective students and families, travels as
a representative of the College at various college fairs and high schools, and articulates
the value of a Defiance College and a liberal arts education. Desirable traits in
a counselor include attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to
work independently, and knowledge of technology. The ideal candidate will be a team
player, goal oriented, and willing to work in a fast-paced environment. This position
requires weekend and evening work.

Case Manager and Counseling Center Staff Clinician
Defiance College seeks a licensed or license-eligible (Ohio) Case Manager/Staff Clinician
to be responsible for providing linking and follow up services to students who are
identified as students of concern or who need help identifying necessary campus or
community resources. The individual will also assist with the management of COVID-19
to include testing and contact tracing. This individual will also serve as a clinician
in the Counseling Center and will provide individual and group counseling, assist
with crisis response (which may require evening and weekend response), conduct mental
health and wellness outreach programs, and provide training and consultation on college
student mental health.
This is a full-time 10-month (August through May) administrative appointment with an immediate start date. The position is grant funded and continued employment will be contingent on performance and grant funding.
Candidates must have a Master’s degree in counseling or a related field and have valid Ohio counselor, social work, or psychologist licensure or 5 years of licensure in another state (must become licensed in Ohio within six months of appointment). Prior experience working with college students is preferred.

Assistant Football Coach – Seasonal Position
Defiance College, an NCAA D-III institution and member of the Heartland Collegiate
Athletic Conference (HCAC), seeks a Seasonal Assistant Football Coach. The individual
will assist the head coach in all phases of student-athlete mentoring and development
and will support the planning and directing of all functions of the football program. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to recruiting, coaching, special
teams, strength & conditioning, equipment, film, overall student-athlete instruction,
game and practice planning, fundraising and student-athlete performance. The successful
candidate will also be responsible for supporting the mission of Defiance College,

Vice President for Enrollment Management
Defiance College announces the search for a Vice President for Enrollment Management
(VPEM) and invites applications and nominations for the position. The strongest applicants
for the position will be energetic, innovative, collaborative, and strategic leaders.
Reporting directly to the President, the VPEM will serve on the President’s Cabinet and be responsible for leading and managing the College’s enrollment management operations including undergraduate and graduate admissions and financial aid. This professional will work closely with student life, athletics, and academic affairs to implement the strategic enrollment plan and coordinate efforts to increase enrollment, retention, and graduation rates.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated achievements and a record of progressive responsibility in the following areas: enrollment management, admissions, strategic planning and analysis, financial aid leveraging, team building, staff development, and experience with marketing.
The Vice President for Enrollment Management will collaborate with senior administrators, the Athletic Department, and the entire campus community to provide strategic enrollment planning, research, and accountability for enrollment outcomes. The new VPEM will have a Master’s Degree and five years of progressively responsible and successful administrative expertise in admissions, financial aid, and marketing.

Defiance College seeks applicants for a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Public
Relations and Marketing. The Graduate Assistant will assist with electronic and various
marketing initiatives in support of outreach to prospective students and the campus
community. Under the direction of the Director of Marketing & Public Relations, responsibilities
will include creating and developing electronic media, taking photographs, capturing
video, writing press releases, updating web content, and assisting with marketing
via social media. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Graphic
Design. Good knowledge of Adobe software and familiarity with Microsoft Office and
various social media platforms is required; knowledge of HTML code is desirable.
