FACULTY POSITIONS


ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ACCOUNTING
Defiance College invites applications and nominations for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Accounting. Responsibilities include a 12-credit per semester teaching load that focuses on a variety of courses that include introductory and advanced courses. The successful candidate will be the lead professor for the accounting major. Supervision of internships is expected. Defiance College is accredited by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education.

The successful candidate must have completed a master's degree in either accounting or business. Doctorate in accounting or business preferred. A CPA licensure is required. ABD will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong teaching record, innovative ideas for course development and pedagogy, and a willingness to help students apply their work both inside and outside the classroom in creative ways. PART-TIME FACULTY POSITIONS

PART-TIME INSTRUCTORS
Defiance College is often in need of qualified individuals for our part-time faculty pool. Format of classes is generally face-to-face and content areas of need vary from semester to semester. Part-time faculty are responsible for providing quality instruction to students through well-prepared classes, relevant assignments, fair and holistic assessment of learning, clear directives, and timely and helpful feedback. Applicants must hold a master's degree (Ph.D. preferred) in relevant field and professional or teaching experience desirable.


ONLINE INSTRUCTOR FOR NURSING
Defiance College is seeking a part-time Nursing Faculty instructor to teach two online courses in the RN to BSN Online Completion Program. The courses to be taught include NRS 475 (Community Health Nursing) and NRS 476 (Community Health Nursing Clinical). These courses focus on maintaining the health and well-being of individuals and groups of individuals. Topics for discussion include a collaborative approach to health care, transcultural nursing, health promotion activities, quality assurance and the evolution of community nursing.

INSTRUCTORS FOR APPLIED MUSIC LESSONS
Defiance College is seeking to build an applicant pool for anticipated instructional needs in applied music lessons for:

Woodwinds: flute, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone
Brass: trumpet, french horn, baritone, trombone, tuba
Strings: violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar

Instructors provide 14 lessons and a performance assessment per semester. Instructors will have the potential to build private studios and work with ensembles. The Music Program seeks candidates with an interest in working with students of all skill levels, as well as energy and drive to contribute to growing a small program. Candidates must hold a master's degree in music education, music performance, or other related field. TEACHER EDUCATION CLINICAL SUPERVISORS
The Teacher Education program is seeking part-time clinical supervisors for teacher education students participating in 5-week practicum experiences and in 15-week student teaching experiences for the fall and spring semesters. Our licensure areas include early and middle childhood education, adolescent and young adult (core content areas), and intervention specialist mild-to-moderate (K-12). Clinical supervisors are required to make site visits during normal school hours and attend meetings and/or training sessions on campus.

Requirements include a master's degree in education and teaching experience in P-12 schools. A current teaching license within the areas indicated above is preferred. ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS


ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER
Defiance College, an NCAA Division III institution, seeks an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Defiance College is affiliated with the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference and sponsors 20 intercollegiate athletic teams. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist the Head Athletic Trainer in athletic health care management and medical coverage for NCAA sponsored intercollegiate athletic teams and events at Defiance College. The individual will be assigned specific coverage for Women's Volleyball and Women's Basketball but will cover other sports as needed.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: coverage of practices, games, and events and traveling with teams to provide coverage at off-campus contests; assisting in daily ATR operations, including injury evaluation, emergency treatment, and rehabilitation; recordkeeping and documentation; work with local medical providers and team physicians to coordinate referrals for injuries; and providing counseling and education to student athletes.

Qualified applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (master's preferred), have current NATA BOC certification, be licensed by the State of Ohio through the Ohio OT/PT/AT, and have previous athletic training experience, preferably in a higher education environment.

FINANCIAL AID COUNSELOR
Defiance College seeks candidates for the position of Financial Aid Counselor. Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid, the Counselor is responsible for counseling students and families in the financial aid process and is responsible for ensuring that all aid processing meets federal, state and institutional regulations. The individual will participate in public relations activities, recruitment events, and retention initiatives. The successful candidate will be technologically confident and willing to learn Powerfaids, NSLDS, FAA Access, ED Express and ED Connect.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, STEM RESEARCH HUB
Defiance College invites applications for an Administrative Assistant for the STEM Research Hub. Reporting to the STEM Research Director, the administrative assistant will provide day-to-day administrative support to the Director. Responsibilities will include coordinating, monitoring, and providing support for the implementation of project tasks; managing and monitoring the STEM Research budget; maintaining appropriate records and preparing various reports; and assisting with project evaluation. This position will also provide administrative support to STEM faculty members.

A high school diploma is required; Associate's degree preferred and experience in research management and higher education is desirable. ASSISTANT CROSS COUNTY/TRACK AND FIELD COACH
Defiance College, an NCAA D-III institution and member of the HCAC, seeks an individual to serve as assistant coach for the men's and women's track and field and cross country programs. The individual will provide organization and leadership for all phases of these programs and responsibilities will include recruiting, meet preparation, practice organization, fund raising, mentoring of student-athletes, managing the programs' social media accounts, and developing annual service/engagement projects for student-athletes. The successful candidate must be able to establish positive relationships and effectively interact with a variety of individuals including alumni, parents, and recruits.

A bachelor's degree, previous collegiate coaching and recruiting experience, and a valid unrestricted driver's license are required. A master's degree, USATF or USTFCCCA coaching education certification, and ability to coach multi-events preferred. A working knowledge of recruiting databases and websites such as Frontrush and NSCA is desirable. This position requires some evening and weekend work combined with business hours and some recruiting travel.

HEAD MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TENNIS COACH
Defiance College, an NCAA Division III institution located in northwest Ohio and member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC), seeks qualified applicants for the position of Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach. With four indoor tennis courts and six outdoor courts, our tennis teams have some of the nicest facilities in NCAA Division III.

The head coach is responsible for the total operation of the men's and women's tennis programs under the direction of the Athletic Director. Tennis responsibilities include recruiting, match/practice management, budget preparation and management, scheduling, fundraising, and other duties normally associated with being the head coach. Additional expectations of this position include mentoring of student-athletes and commitment to their academic progress and degree completion; development of an annual service learning/engagement project for student-athletes; knowledge of and commitment to all NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations; game administration duties; and some departmental and campus committee work/involvement.

This position requires a bachelor's degree (master's preferred), a valid driver's license, and previous coaching and recruiting experience, preferably as a collegiate head coach. HEAD CHEER AND DANCE COACH
Defiance College, an NCAA Division III institution and member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference located in Northwest Ohio, invites applications for the position of Head Cheer and Dance Coach. Responsibilities will include all duties normally associated with being the head coach of an intercollegiate cheer and dance program including, but not limited to, recruiting, coaching, budget management, organization of training, practices and competitions, academic monitoring and other duties as assigned.

Candidates must demonstrate significant knowledge of cheer and dance, possess stunting certifications, proven success in coaching cheer and dance at the collegiate or high school level, the ability to recruit, develop and motivate Division III student-athletes, a strong commitment to the academic success of student-athletes, knowledge of and commitment to all NCAA, HCAC and institutional rules and regulations, good communication skills, and strong leadership.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT FOR ATHLETICS
Defiance College seeks an individual to provide primary administrative support to the Director of Athletics as well as support other athletic staff and coaches. This is a full-time, 11-month position. Responsibilities include contract preparation, database maintenance, coordinating mailings and banquets, processing financial transactions, providing organizational and logistical support for events and activities, and other support tasks involved in the administration of the athletic department. The individual will also be responsible for coordinating all aspects of tickets sales for home football and basketball games.

The individual must be able to maintain thorough and accurate records; be proficient with MS Office and Google Drive; work cooperatively with a diverse group of individuals; possess excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills; be able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines; and be willing to work a flexible schedule. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, TITLE III GRANT PROJECT
Defiance College invites applications for an Administrative Assistant for the Title III Grant Project. Reporting to the Title III Project Director, the administrative assistant will provide day-to-day administrative support to the Project Director and Activity Leaders of a federal Title III grant. GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIPS

The following Graduate Assistant positions are two-year assignments with a start date of August 2, 2021. Applicants must apply and be accepted for admission into the Defiance College graduate program in Education (MAE) or Business (MBA). Applicants pursuing a graduate degree in Education must hold a teaching license to be eligible for the Defiance College MAE program. Graduate assistants will be awarded a full graduate-school tuition scholarship covering a maximum of 36 credit hours. Compensation includes a salary stipend, a housing stipend (or college-provided housing), and a meal plan on campus when meals are served to students during the academic year.

GRADUATE ASSISTANT - WOMEN'S SOCCER

GRADUATE ASSISTANT - ENROLLMENT
Defiance College is seeking an individual to serve as a Graduate Assistant with the Enrollment Management team. The individual will work closely with the Marketing and Financial Aid offices to be responsible for creating a new campaign to enhance social media and financial aid outreach campaigns. The campaign will include phone, text, posters, and emails to all constituents. Responsibilities will include coordinating video ads, modernizing website pages, preparing financial aid mailings, working with student assistants, performing data entry, taking photos at various events, and assisting in the goals of new and returning FAFSA filers. The Graduate Assistant will meet and greet students and parents, answer incoming calls as needed, and cross-train to learn and assist with other aspects of the Admissions Office.

The individual will assist with coordination of publicity, media relations, and promotion of the College's 21 intercollegiate sports programs. Primary responsibilities will include serving as the main contact for at least four sports; layout and design of media guides, game-day programs, and game-note packets; writing news releases and stories; daily maintenance of www.DefianceAthletics.com; keeping statistics and performing other game-day tasks; and other duties as assigned by the Sports Information Director.
