Seonguk Kim

Interests: Seonguk Kim obtained his Ph.D. in 2016 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He joined the Department of Mathematics at DePauw University in 2017 after a 1-year instructor position at the University of Alabama. At DePauw, Seonguk Kim is very passionate about being an active, engaging teacher and has taught various courses, including Computational Discrete Mathematics, Calculus sequences, Algebraic Structure, Differential Equations, and Analysis. He has also developed more effective techniques and planning to create interdisciplinary courses mixed with machine learning, data science, and mathematics. His professional interests lie in mathematical physics, biology, and graph theory in network systems and stochastic financial models. He has enjoyed participating in the activities and program, including undergraduate research based on his research specialization. Outside of mathematics, he has been spending quality time with his wife and one child.
