Bill Lammers to speak on servant leadership

November 13, 2018

Bill LammersDEFIANCE, Ohio - Bill Lammers, chief executive officer of the Defiance Dream Center and executive pastor of Experience Church in Defiance, will speak at Defiance College on Thursday, Nov. 15, as part of the Service Leadership Speaker Series.

Lammers’s presentation, “Servant Leadership: Flip Your Focus,” will begin at 7 p.m. in Schomburg Auditorium. His appearance is co-sponsored by the E. Stevens Dix Lectureship.

Lammers holds dual master’s degrees from Defiance College in business administration and organizational leadership. Before launching his current endeavors, he was a business leader for more than 20 years, managing three manufacturing plants and overseeing 700-plus employees.

“Traditional leadership tends to focus on leading first. It’s primarily about exercising power. But what happens when leaders flip their focus to serving first?” notes Lammers about the message he plans to give. “The greatest return on investment as a leader is being able to add value to others. It is in helping people discover their purpose and live to their full potential that we see the vision and mission carried out. So it's paramount that we understand the key drivers to flip our focus to a heart of servant leadership.”

As part of the event, attendees are encouraged to bring clean, new or gently used coats to be donated to the Defiance Dream Center to hand out to families during the Christmas season. This project is sponsored by Defiance College’s Opp Shop.

The Nov. 15 event is free and open to the public.
