How often do I need to apply for Financial Aid?
Students must re-apply every year by completing the FAFSA as soon as possible after October 1.

How does Defiance College determine financial need?
Need is based on the following: Cost of Attendance - Expected Family Contribution (EFC) = Financial Need. The EFC is determined by information reported on the FAFSA. The EFC is used to determine all need-based aid. The calculation formula for the EFC is established by law.

What can I do if my or my parent's income has changed?
You may apply for a Special Circumstance if you have had a significant change in income or benefits. Please contact the Financial Aid Office to discuss your situation.

What should I do if I find an error on my FAFSA submission summary?
Corrections to your FAFSA can be made online by logging into the Federal Student Aid page using your FSA ID to log in, then clicking "Make FAFSA Corrections."

Can monthly payments be arranged?
Many families prefer to make their college payments in smaller, more frequent installments. Learn more about the DC Payment Plan.

Where do I pay my tuition bill?
Payment of tuition, room, and meal charges is made in the Business Office, Defiance Hall room 213, prior to each semester or summer session. Students will be billed in advance of the registration date for each term. Confirmed financial aid awards are subtracted from the bill, except for campus job earnings. Payment from campus employment comes directly to the employed student in monthly payroll checks.

Defiance College reserves the right to make changes and designate the effective date of changes in financial aid programs, policies, and procedures as necessary.
