Mission Statement
The mission of the Residence Life Staff at Defiance College is to promote a living and learning environment for residential students. The major source of energy behind this effort is the graduate and undergraduate student staff living and working in the residence halls. The Graduate Hall Directors and Resident Assistants work with the residents to develop a sense of community in the halls. Efforts are made to assist students in realizing their values. The exchange of ideas is fostered, student development programs are implemented, peer counseling is targeted at appropriate developmental levels and residents are educated about their responsibilities as a member of a community and held accountable for the decisions they choose to make.
Welcome
On behalf of the Office of Residence Life and its staff, I would like to welcome you to the Defiance College residential community. Defiance College firmly believes that campus living offers unique opportunities for student learning and forming lifelong friendships. Whether it is through attending a program, participating in community governance, resolving roommate conflicts, or spending time with friends, the group living experience significantly contributes to s student's overall educational and personal development. Our staff strives to create an environment that fosters these friendships as well as contributes to a student's academic success.
