About Free the Slaves: Defiance College students are expected to combine knowledge and understanding with active leadership and service as they develop reasoning abilities, superior professional skills, a well-developed sense of self and moral judgment, and an understanding of their civic roles and responsibilities. They encourage their students to be of service to their fellow students, their chosen fields of study, their communities and the world. In line with those expectations, we have aligned with the national organization Free the Slaves with the goal of spreading awareness of this global epidemic in our college community, and fundraising to help local survivors of human trafficking and to support the national organization.
